During an especially active flu season that started in October 2017 and continued through late April 2018, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported that more than 200,000 of its residents tested positive for the flu virus and more than 30,000 people were hospitalized.
Considering the 2017-2018 flu outbreak is on target to surpass the record season of 2014-2015 and the scope of the next flu threat is still unknown, it’s even more important for event professionals to watch out for the health of attendees, as well as themselves.
